 LOW-LEVEL LOADING COMMUTER BI-LEVEL

APPLYING ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

And a century  of engineering , Kawasaki has introduced  a high–capacity bi–level that exceeds every other low–level boarding commuter car in the industry. With true low–level boarding, the trains require no multiple steps to and from the platform.

The L3 features monocoque stainless steel construction with no center sill. This ensures strength and maximum safety for passengers in the event of collision.

The Stainless steel resists corrosion, which increases safety and cuts costs  long–term. And with it  the L3 cars meet strict APTA SS- C&S and 49CFR238 Qualifications.

Other benefits to transit systems and their riders include operation speed: the cars are capable of FRA Tier- 1 high speeds of 125 mph. The elimination of the center sill allows excellent truck and wheel clearances for the braking arrangements necessary  for safe high speed operation. And smart equipment arrangement, with unencumbered access to controls and parts, makes maintenance quick and easy.

The fully- engineered L3 can be delivered with a maximum design review schedule, delivery time and commissioning time. Little more is required than the selection of interior colors and exterior markings, Seating arrangements and passengers amenities are flexible and can be easily worked in to the design to meet specific needs. The result is maximum value for the customer.

Kawasaki is the first manufacturer to bring an updated version of this car type in more than 30 years . The L3 is a design solution that addresses the needs of transit systems and their passengers with innovation and efficiency
