GROUND
BREAKING NEW FEATURES
have also been added to the R143 cars including:
Provision for Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC).
When this system is online, it will be capable of tracking
the exact location of every train in the system, enabling
more frequent service by reducing the headway necessary
between trains.
An electronic LED Interior Information Sign System
that is
capable of providing media information, such as public relations
information, service announcements, advertising and commercials.
The
technology implemented in the R143 cars is elevating comfort and
safety for riders, while ensuring greater efficiencies and
trouble - free operation for transit systems. With them, Kawasaki
Rail Car and New York City Transit are changing transportation
in the city for the better.
